Versorium is a privately held power generation company based in Calgary, Alberta.
Versorium develops and operates flexible generation and energy storage solutions that support the evolving needs of electricity systems across Canada. This approach is referred to as Smart Energy: power infrastructure designed to respond quickly to changing system conditions and deliver reliable capacity when it is needed most.

As electricity demand grows and electricity systems integrate increasing amounts of intermittent renewable generation, flexible and dispatchable power resources play an increasingly important role in maintaining grid reliability. Versorium develops projects designed to provide responsive capacity that supports stable, resilient electricity systems.

Versorium develops a range of Smart Energy solutions designed to meet the reliability and capacity needs of electricity systems.
​Distributed Energy Resources (DERs)
Small-scale generation facilities connected directly to the local distribution grid, providing localized reliability and capacity close to demand centers. DER facilities leverage existing electrical and natural gas infrastructure, minimizing land requirements and enabling faster development timelines while reducing environmental and stakeholder impacts.
Dispatchable Natural Gas Generation
Utility-scale natural gas generation facilities that provide flexible, on-demand power to the broader grid. These larger, high-efficiency plants can rapidly ramp output in response to fluctuations in electricity demand and renewable generation, delivering firm capacity and supporting overall grid stability.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Utility-scale battery storage projects that support grid balancing, peak shaving, and the integration of intermittent renewable energy resources.
Versorium's current development focus includes opportunities across Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Ontario.
